Mint Marks on most coins are
P = produced at the Philadelphia Pennsylvania branch of the United States Mint
D = produced at the Denver Colorado branch of the U.S. Mint
S = produced at the San Fancisco California branch of the U.S. Mint
O = produced at the New Orleans Louisiana branch of the U.S. Mint
CC= produced at the Carson City Nevada branch of the U.S. Mint
Half Cent coins have no mint mark, all of the 1/2 cent coins were a produced at the Philadelphia branch of the United States Mint
Large Cents ( slang= Large U S Pennies ) have no mint mark, all of the coins in this series were a produced at the Philadelphia branch of the U S Mint
Flying Eagle Cent coins (slang= Eagle Pennies) have no mint mark, all of the coins in this series were produced at the Philadelphia branch of the U S Mint
Two Cent coins have no mint mark, all of the 2 cent coins were produced at the Philadelphia branch of the United States Mint

Silver Three Cent coins 1851 O ( O = New Orleans branch ) The O mint mark is located on back of the III cent silver coins 3 cent silver coins have a large letter C partially surrounding the roman numerals III on the back of the coin
